Sizzle Lines Tutorial Walkthrough

BYO Audio offers Sizzle Lines to help promote your business to your customers and collect testimonials from them. Here is a tutorial on how to set up an automated Sizzle Line that will play your selected message 24/7 to your customers,and allows your customers to leave a message for testimonials.

Setting up a "Shared Sizzle Line"

This is a phone line with an assigned number you share with other users, which will play a recorded message for your customers. They will need to enter a PIN # to access your message. Follow the steps below to set up your Sizzle Line.

Step 1: Log in to your BYO Audio Account with your username and password.

Step 2: Select "Phones" from the left sidebar. This will open all the phone options.

Step 3: Click on "My Sizzle Lines".

Now all the the Sizzle Lines you currently have set up on your account are visable.  In the example below, we have no Sizzle Lines currently set up in the account. To set one up, we have 2 choices. We can either click on the blue "Click Here" link under Sizzle Line Name, or we can click on "Create New Sizzle Line" on the sidebar. Either choice will take us to the next step.  If you have at least one Sizzle Line currently set up, the "Click Here to create a Sizzle Line" option will not appear.

Step 4: Fill in details about your Sizzle Line.

Chose a Name and Description for your Sizzle Line. This is how you will identify the phone line within your BYO Account. This information will appear under "My Sizzle Lines" listed under "Sizzle Line Name", as we saw in Step 3.

Step 5:  Select "Shared" or "Private" Sizzle Line.

For this example, we will chose a Shared Sizzle Line. A "Shared Sizzle Line" does not require a Private Toll number to be set up first, in order to set up the Sizzle Line. Other BYO Audio users will also use this shared phone number with different PIN numbers.  In the next step, you will chose a PIN number that will allow your callers to hear your message when calling in.

Step 6: Select your PIN, and Audio to play.

Here you will enter the PIN code you wish your users to enter to get your recorded message. Choose a number between 4 and 6 digits long, and we'll tell you automatically if that number is available to use.

Next click on the drop down box to choose the audio file you would like to play on your sizzle line. You can choose any of the audio files you currently have saved in your BYO Audio account.

If you would like to allow customers to leave a message after your audio file plays, check the first box under your audio selection. If you would like to be notified by email when a new message has been recorded from one of your customers, check the second box and enter a valid email address.

When you have finished making your selections, click on "Create Sizzle Line".


Setting up a Private Sizzle Line with a PIN code

A Private Sizzle Line with a PIN code, allows you to chose a phone number (with a 512 area code) to give your customers. You will not have to share this line with other users, and if you set it up with a PIN number you can use the same phone number for multiple messages, with a different PIN code for each message.

First, Repeat Steps 1 & 2 above.

Step 3: Select "Add Phone Number"

Select "Texas" as State/Province, and then "512 - Austin" as City/Region. Currently we only offer 512 area code phone numbers, but we're working on adding more numbers to our pool of available numbers. You will see a list of available numbers you can choose from. If you don't like any of these numbers, click "Show Next 10" for 10 more numbers to choose from. When you find a number you like, click the check box next to the phone number and "Confirm My Selection".
Two more confirmation screens will follow, to explain the charges (if any apply ) associated with the Private Number you are Adding to your Account. If you accept the setup, click on "I Accept these Numbers" at the bottom of the first page, and then "Yes" on the popup box. Then you will see an invoice of charges for the Private Number added to your account.

Step 4: Select "Create Sizzle Line"

Now that we have a private number set up, we'll create a new Sizzle Line, and assign that number to it with a PIN so we can create several messages on one phone line. Just like in Step 3 for setting up a Shared Sizzle Line above, click on "Create New Sizzle Line" on the sidebar. Then chose a Name and Description for your Sizzle Line. This is how you will identify the phone line within your BYO Account. This information will appear under "My Sizzle Lines" listed under "Sizzle Line Name".

Step 5: Fill in "Sizzle Line Details".

For Sizzle Line Type, Choose "Private Toll Number, PIN Code Required $". For "Private Phone Number", you will choose the phone number you added to your account in Step 3.

If you would like to allow your callers to leave a message, check the first box. If you would like to receive an email notification when a caller leaves a message, check the second box and fill in an active email address. Click on "Create Sizzle Line".
